Welcome to Western Colorado Journeys!
Our printed guide is the most complete guidebook for finding art and artists, wineries and the incredible destinations that can only be found on the Western Slope of Colorado. Complete with maps, articles on the area, listings of events and our online resources, it is your go-to resource for a visit to Western Colorado.
The Western Slope, as locals call it, is home to hundreds of artists and artisans. Drawn by the stunning scenery and breathtaking locations it is an artist's paradise, serving as inspiration not only to artists but the many visitors to the region each year. The Western Slope has also been used for film locations, television commercials, and recently even chosen for a Restaurant Impossible episode!
The Western Slope also boasts rich soil which benefits local growers of wine grapes as well as many varieties of fruits used in wines also. There are also an increasing number of lavender growers in the area, making the area reminiscent of regions of France as you tour the area. Just driving through the area you cannot help but notice acres of vineyards and fruit trees that span the horizon.
The Western Slope is also home to the Colorado National Monument, Gateway Canyons, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and many other landmarks and historical places. It would be impossible to experience all of it in one week. But this means that you can return again and again to taste what the Western Slope has to offer you, meet the local artisans of art and wine, and get to know all of us a little better. We welcome you! So relax and stay a while, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the local scene.
We do!
